Devil May Cry 4 Demo Thursday
The official Capcom blog let’s out with the news that the demo for the newest gen Shooty McStabby one-liner spewing franchise, Devil May Cry dumps onto the interwebs this Thursday.
With DMC’s track record (1 = awesome, 2 = teh suck, 3 = wtfhard, 3 Special Edition = awesome again) this demo will be the barometer by which we’ll know if this is one to look out for, or if we’ll hold our horses for another special edition which actually makes it playable.
1 commentMonday Morning Rant - Final Fantasy XIII
Can we please stop acting like Final Fantasy XIII has even the most remote chance of coming out in 2008?! It kills me that we are not playing it anytime soon but for those who keep insisting on putting Final Fantasy XIII in your 2008 Playstation 3 games list just stop, for the love of humanity stop.
The only country that has even that slim chance of playing it is Japan and its still a very minisucle chance. No new trailers, a few pics, no demo or word of a demo all of these things point to nothing in 2008. “So when will it be out?” you ask? No I don’t know, except not 2008. Going by the last generations Final Fantasy release schedule I would guess Feb/March 2009 in Japan then November 2009 for the U.S.
No commentsNintendo doesn’t announce a DS resdesign
It’s been a while since Nintendo announced the DS Lite, and we haven’t heard of the next smaller, brighter or more translucent iteration. What’s up with that?
Bionic Commando is Quite a Swinger
Not only is this franchise getting a brand new game in the series for retail release, but also a glossed up remake of the original title for XBLA and PS3 Network. That’s right kids one of Falthorn’s personal favorites is getting the work over according to a little news break over at IGN. But this is not your standard blur smoothing effect, classic arcade cash in for Capcom. No, they love us so much that they are giving us our favorite 2D gameplay with all new 3D assets, and story overhaul more akin to the NES release of yore. It would seem that the Big C has been rather nostalgic lately between this, the Street Fighter remake and sequel and the recently released Umbrella Chronicles for Wii. Personally I’m thrilled to revisit these great franchises, although I really would like to see that sequel to Dead Rising I keep writing them about.
1 commentFinal Fantasy XII Revenant Wings Review
Coming to a close on playing the top games that came out over the holidays, and entering the short reprieve before the Feb./March onslaught, I decided to catch up on some of the smaller titles I missed. First on my handy dandy Gamefly list was Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings for the Nintendo DS, a spinoff of Final Fantasy XII for the Playstation 2 (my personal GOTY for 2006) which takes place shortly after those events. It would be nice if you could get a chance to play FFXII for PS2 before this game but not neccessary. The question is, is this title worth your money or at least a spot on your rental list?
No commentsLong Live the King!
I spent this past weekend away from home base visiting family, and unfortunately there was no internet available in my locale. And without my games, or news of games to keep me busy we had to hit the next best thing, a movie based on a game. Yes folks everyone’s favorite director Uwe Boll has done it again with his latest release “Dungeon Siege: In the Name of the King.” If you don’t know anything about Boll and his film adaptations of games, ask the next person you see to slap you upside the head fiercely at least 4 times. This will be less painful then seeing his first 4 game movies which include “House of the Dead”, “Alone in the Dark”, “BloodRayne” and “BloodRayne 2.” I could go on and on about how much of a jerk he’s said to be, or how he uses crazy German tax breaks to fund his budgets, or you could do your homework here and hurry back to reading the good stuff.
No commentsAmerican McGee Sharts Corpses
You may know American McGee from the incredibly good American McGee presents American McGee’s auto-American Asphixiation’s Alice or the incredibly bad American “I should really quit putting my name on this junk” McGee’s Bad Day LA.
He’s presently working on an episodic game for the delightful GameTap service called Grimm.
He’s also got a production blog up, if you’re into that sort of thing. His most recent post shows a Siege Tower before and after it gets all spookied up. Apparently, afterwards it develops a case of corpse incontinence. Fun for the whole family.

No commentsSoul Calibur 4 Updated Info
Just a quick update to the news Falthorn broke a little earlier today on the big Star Wars crossover. It appears that fanboy dreams of Vader vs Yoda may not come to fruition after all, as each character is an exclusive to each system.
2 commentsRambo theme on Live Marketplace!
You can now, this very moment (assuming Xbox Live isn’t coldcocked), get Rambo slathered all over your Xbox dashboard. For maximum effect, hum “Let the bodies hit the Floor” as you inject your interface with geriatric goodies.
Also, Vader and Yoda in Soul Calibur 4
