Microsoft Repair Center Does it’s Job, Customer Upset by Outcome

February 29th, 2008 | Category: General, Xbox

This story has been floating around the inter-tubes all day, and quite frankly I’m sick of hearing people go on about it. So I will now go on about it myself, but with a twist viewpoint in which I will not bash Microsoft. I’ve seen the details, heard the second hand accounts, and read the comments from other blogs and can only assume that this guy, along with the majority of the internetz must have little to no common sense. And as a quick helpful hint to those who do not know what it means to send your system in to get refurbished, I provide you with this little bit of knowledge:

American Heritage Dictionary -
re·fur·bish (rē-fûr’bĭsh) re·fur·bished, re·fur·bish·ing, re·fur·bish·es:
To make clean, bright, or fresh again; renovate.

At Playstation Destination Sony announced some new hardware bundles to coincide with some big games coming out this spring and Summer.  These bundles include yet another PS3 hardware bundle, this time including the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4.  They are also showing some more love for the PSP with a “deep red” color PSP including God of War Chains of Olympus.

Lost Odyssey Journal - A Wind Named Amnesia

February 26th, 2008 | Category: XBox 360

RPG’s are a very personal thing to me so I decided instead of doing a normal review for Lost Odyssey for Xbox 360 you will get my ongoing impressions on the game in a journal format. So you lucky readers get to feel every emotion and letdown the game has to offer as I do giving you immediate impressions instead of stale ones. I was expecting a lot of this game being an ambitious release from Microsoft and the father of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi. So far i’m getting totally lost in this game, in a good way.

Oh J.T. You Magnificent Bastard!

February 25th, 2008 | Category: General

This is funny. I really don’t want to give any play to J to the Tizzy on this site, but this gives me a chuckle…

Opening Pandora’s Box - Devil May Cry 4

February 22nd, 2008 | Category: Playstation 3, XBox 360

I’m sure Falthorn is still working through all the harder settings and getting nice and bloody in the palace.  In the meantime I thought it might be good to give a quick impression of the final game.  With the avalanche of games coming in and a big one for me with Lost Odyssey (look for my chronicles of this game starting this weekend) I decided to just play the wimpy Human mode and finish this game off in one weekend with a quick run through.  I would say i’m happy with this game, not impressed, but happy.

A Mind for Gaming

February 20th, 2008 | Category: General

Saw this over at BBC about more gimmicky gimmicks to keep jaded gamers and grandma and grandpa playing Brain Training 45 - The Return of John Rambo.  Can’t we just play and enjoy, you know, the games?

Too Much News to Keep up With

February 19th, 2008 | Category: General

I’ve been a little busy at work… sorry I can’t lie, I mean occupied with Culdcept, and as such keep holding off on posting. The problem is that with GDC going on, the news and rumors have been flying lately and I simply couldn’t decide what I really wanted to talk about at length. So instead I’ve decided to do a quick roundup of some of the news that caused me to read more than a headline (aside from the recent Lost Planet required 5 gb install news, don’t get me started on that crap).

Monday Morning Rant - pay 400 MS Points for the rest edition

February 12th, 2008 | Category: Monday Morning Rant

So i’m going through my Gamefly list and being a RPG junkie I was thinking of trying out Dark Messiah of Might and Magic for Xbox 360. I download the demo from Marketplace and notice there is downloadable content up for it already. Looking at it I find it’s just some weapons and accessories for your characters for either 400 or 800 MS points. The thing that set me off about this was the fact the game isn’t even out yet.

Long Weekend, Back to Work

February 12th, 2008 | Category: General

Unfortunately I spent most of my weekend sick with a cold, but on the flip side this gave me plenty of time to hunker down with my latest obsession: Culdcept Saga for Xbox360. As a fan of the PS2 version and the artist who did the art for the cards in the game, I really wanted to be able to give this game a super positive glowing review. Alas there are certain issues I feel obligated to discuss that take away some of joy this game should have brought me, nothing major mind you, but just enough to make me feel less than 100% satisfied with my purchase
