Thunderpudd’s Soapbox: Developers May Cry About it!
So all the PS3 users who bought Devil May Cry 4 got home, wiped the dust off that’s been gathering since Uncharted, and sat back ready to enjoy Capcom’s latest demon slaying tour de force until their eyes began to bleed. But much to their chagrin, they were “treated to an exciting 22 - 25 minute load process as the disc spins a few gigs of data onto your hard drive.” At least that’s how Capcom Community Blogger Chris “Kramez” Kramer words it. Treated makes it sound as if you, the loyal consumer (maybe even one of those die-hard psfanboys that signed your silly little petition awhile back), are about to receive a “treat.”
1 commentPSP anti-bomb-proof
Some Michigan kid got his burgeoning lad hairs torched when the PSP inside his pocket burst into flames and lit up his pants like a glass boxed puppy in the Mohave Desert.

Cnet has an article up on a few gadgets they voted as most rugged, bomb proof gadgets ever. The original Gameboy got major kudos for taking a licking but keeping on ticking. Not really a surprise, Nintendo is pretty well known for making solid products. Even if my old green lcd screen had lines up and down it.

2 commentsMonday Morning Rant - Hail Mary Pass Edition
Never been much of a football fan but wow what a great Super Bowl game that was. Probably better for me since I wasn’t really a fan of either team, just watching to see who wanted it more. Speaking of acts of God, my 360 is on its way back from Texas, and hopefully back up to working condition, just in time for the onslaught of games coming up and some XBLA games I’ve missed out on for the last three weeks.
The Spoken Word

Just a Quick FYI. The latest edition of the XYBA Podcast has been released, and I have been allowed guest pass status once again. This latest discussion tries to adhere to a slightly tighter schedule to accommodate you slower kids with shorter attention spans. Some of the topics include games we’re playing, rants about the child man article by out of touch prude Kay Hymnowitz (I truly feel sorry for the poor schlep that got ball and chained to her) and the big one year B-day for the XYBA site itself.

Since we are currently in that time of year where the gaming industry slows things down for releases I thought it was time to play some of the titles that didn’t receive GOTY nominations. Seeing as how my son has been dominating the Wii since he got Super Mario Galaxy for the holidays I decided it was high time I assert my parental law and lay claim for a weekend free from chubby plumbers and stardust.
