So the dude that has his one of a kind autographed Xbox360 refurbed made out like a bandit with a surprise goody pack from Bungie themselves. The saga continues over at Hawty’s Blog with some pics and details. Now I want to make sure it’s clear that my post about the issue was not meant to downplay the crap factor of the situation, I know I would be super pissed had it happened to me. But it was more to complain about all the hate generated towards M$ from the comments and forums (which is often filled with idiots anyhow). I can understand that maybe this guy was clueless about how these sort of things work, I still say the blame is half him half repair center (for also being clueless).

So, lesson learned by him, M$ feels bad and is “investigating” their process, but it is Bungie who plays mediator and makes nice nice for said gamer. Junior says he did not spread the story to get this kind of special make up package, or to belittle Microsoft, but rather to raise awareness so that he could (and I quote):

“make Microsoft aware of potential and/or actual issues with their service process(es). At this time, I feel that significant progress has been made to both ends, and I continue to await more information from Microsoft staff. It is my ultimate goal and sincere hope that we can find a way to prevent something like this from ever occurring again. “

That sounds great, although what do you kids think the percentage of people having an autographed one of a kind system that they do not want cleaned up are? Yeah, me too. Anyway I really like the feel good part of the story, and I really don’t think this guy was trying to get freebies or scam anyone. But hopefully we’ve all learned a valuable life’s lesson at the end of the day that will makes us better people.
