Lost Odyssey Journal - Grandma is Hot!

Category: XBox 360

To avoid spoilers for those that have yet to play this game (and you WILL play it) I will not elaborate on the title.  Suffice to say the grandma is indeed hot.  Breezing on through to disc 3 of Lost Odyssey and still moving at a comfortable pace.

Firmly into the middle part and it feels comfortable and not too different from most RPG’s at this point.  Basically a mixture of moving the plot along, revealing of the villain and alluding to his purpose and side quests.  For awhile I was a bit worried about the Vanilla Ice reject villain but he has taken a nice turn for the worst making me actually dislike him opposed to just laughing everytime he came on screen.

I have been collecting alot of these “Dreams” you may have heard about now.  Finally started to read some of them and they are indeed good but might not be for everyone.  I feel its a good fit for RPGs and the different tastes in playing them.  If you love backstory there is so much here to read and the way its presented with effects and music over the writings is enjoyable.  And of then you have some people that prefer the “run and gun” approach to RPGs and don’t really card about the story past who is the good guy and who do I beat up.  For those they don’t have to take the time and read these stories and still be serviced by the game.

I feel sorry for the former people though because they are missing out on some really good stories that bring another dimension to the game i’m playing.  It’s a wonder they are playing RPGs anyways.

A nice little touch I have been noticing lately is how all your weapons and accessories you equip are reflected on your characters.  And because the cut scenes are in real time your accessories are reflected in big dramatic scenes leading to some moments I just have to snicker at.  For instance I had my main character Kaim equipped with a Pixie Flower accessory that puts this multicolor flower looking barette in his hair.  It’s really hard to take your main macho character seriously in a dramatic scene with the main villain and hes sporting a hippie flower in his hair.
