If you purchased some of last weeks Jimmy Buffet song offerings for your rocking pleasure you may have noticed that they were new recordings done for just for Rock Band. In fact ol’ Jimmy went so far as to throw props to Rock Band itself in his song “Volcano.” Now I wouldn’t have thought the demographics would include too many other Buffet fans besides me, but I applaud Harmonix for providing such an eclectic lineup and Jimbo for going the extra mile to acknowledge the gaming culture as a medium worth a fresh studio visit.

I hope this encourages more bands to make possible exclusives for this new breed of music-game market, lord knows the numbers have been great for the DLC purchase rates, and if they can make money via digital format then maybe record companies as we know them could be a thing of the past. Oh well, wishful thinking I’m sure, but regardless good job well done all around. On a side note, how the hell does the guy from Disturbed sing like that without spitting up blood!?
