Stop the presses: Xbox 360 displays three red rings!

Category: XBox 360

rrod.jpgMy Xbox 360 red ringed this weekend. The launch-day bought box started sporting its new look after booting cold, rather than during a marathon session of Puzzle Quest.

Reports say 30% failure rates are estimated, but using the ultra-scientific testing pool of people I know, this brings the failure rate per capita to a respectable 100%.

Cardboard coffin: en route.

We got ours for christmas and it does a weird thing where when we press the power button sometimes it doesn’t do the circling green rings as it boots and it doesn’t show anything on the TV, it just sits there. If we turn it off and try again it usually comes on fine. We’ve gotten a red ring in the bottom right corner before but never all around. I don’t know if we should take it back now or wait till it completely gives out.

Now my friend, you have become a man… a man who now shares the sorrow many have felt before. I think it’s all some big social science experiment that M$ is running to test customer loyalty.

Hey, we can see who gets theirs back first from Microsoft. I have a two week head start on you though.

With the RROD i’ve been hearing some people are getting a new Falcon model back. The only bad thing with that is you have to always be online to play or use any of your DLC or XBLA games.
