Worst Gamer Tat EVER

Seriously … This is THE worst gamer tat. Not only aesthetically, but psychologically as well. Imagine the dude who has to stare at the sniggering dog while going for the gold. Young gamers associate the shame of ineptitude with the Dog’s haunting giggle, so to be faced with that secret shame while performing his manly duty is terrifying.
1 commentPlease Help me Kill PC Gaming
Seriously folks, the idea of the PC as a real gaming platform just needs to die. This is a monster that is constantly cannibalizing itself and anyone who dares to try to tame it with their wares. Case in point: a very bitter Michael Fitch speaks on the now defunct Iron Lore Entertainment which has closed their doors after the release of the modestly successful “Titan Quest.” This was said to be due to the fact that they could not secure enough funding for their next project, and the details of how that takes place on the business side is beyond me, but Mr. Fitch felt a need to give us his two cents in a rather pathetic rant bemoaning PC game piracy, and all the stupid reviewers out there. Now I do not advocate piracy, nor do I really think that it is “destroying profits” as most of big business would like us to believe. And I have read a review or two that made me think the person writing may have been mentally challenged. But that is neither here nor there as far as I’m concerned.
Microsoft Repair Center Does it’s Job, Customer Upset by Outcome

This story has been floating around the inter-tubes all day, and quite frankly I’m sick of hearing people go on about it. So I will now go on about it myself, but with a twist viewpoint in which I will not bash Microsoft. I’ve seen the details, heard the second hand accounts, and read the comments from other blogs and can only assume that this guy, along with the majority of the internetz must have little to no common sense. And as a quick helpful hint to those who do not know what it means to send your system in to get refurbished, I provide you with this little bit of knowledge:
American Heritage Dictionary -
re·fur·bish (rē-fûr’bĭsh) re·fur·bished, re·fur·bish·ing, re·fur·bish·es:
To make clean, bright, or fresh again; renovate.
Sony Rolling Out New Bundles for Big Games
At Playstation Destination Sony announced some new hardware bundles to coincide with some big games coming out this spring and Summer. These bundles include yet another PS3 hardware bundle, this time including the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4. They are also showing some more love for the PSP with a “deep red” color PSP including God of War Chains of Olympus.

This is funny. I really don’t want to give any play to J to the Tizzy on this site, but this gives me a chuckle…

No commentsA Mind for Gaming
Saw this over at BBC about more gimmicky gimmicks to keep jaded gamers and grandma and grandpa playing Brain Training 45 - The Return of John Rambo. Can’t we just play and enjoy, you know, the games?
No commentsToo Much News to Keep up With
I’ve been a little busy at work… sorry I can’t lie, I mean occupied with Culdcept, and as such keep holding off on posting. The problem is that with GDC going on, the news and rumors have been flying lately and I simply couldn’t decide what I really wanted to talk about at length. So instead I’ve decided to do a quick roundup of some of the news that caused me to read more than a headline (aside from the recent Lost Planet required 5 gb install news, don’t get me started on that crap).

Just about everyone knew it was coming (except for Toshiba and the handful of rabid HD-DVD fanboys) and now its a hair from being official. First reported in Japan and now being confirmed just about everywhere Toshiba is closing shop on HD-DVD and writing off a massive loss. Read in full over at thedigitalbits.com
No commentsLong Weekend, Back to Work
Unfortunately I spent most of my weekend sick with a cold, but on the flip side this gave me plenty of time to hunker down with my latest obsession: Culdcept Saga for Xbox360. As a fan of the PS2 version and the artist who did the art for the cards in the game, I really wanted to be able to give this game a super positive glowing review. Alas there are certain issues I feel obligated to discuss that take away some of joy this game should have brought me, nothing major mind you, but just enough to make me feel less than 100% satisfied with my purchase
PSP anti-bomb-proof
Some Michigan kid got his burgeoning lad hairs torched when the PSP inside his pocket burst into flames and lit up his pants like a glass boxed puppy in the Mohave Desert.
